There is a mediaeval village, not big, but well kept and lived in. Located on the top of a hill amongst other towns at the rocky foot of the mountain. Near lake Bomba and it could be just another village. Yet, strangely, it was chosen to build one of the most spectacular icons of Abruzzo. A castle and church, precariously positioned at the top edge of a towering lime stone rock. A most beautiful and awe-inspiring sight. I recommend a walk through the old Borgo , maybe buy some local honey, and then start the steep walk up to the castle walls. For a small admission fee you can continue the walk up to the highest point and marvel at the views. 430 meters above sea level.
