Casoli is a pretty, mediaeval town in the province of Chieti, in central Italy and 30 minutes to the beach and 30 minutes to the ski resorts. The town is located high up, perched on a hill, at the foot of the Majella Mountain offering a fascinating historic center with amazing panoramic views. The highest point of the town, is also the oldest. As you walk up the hill to the 11th century Ducal Castle it feels like you are slowly travelling back in time the closer you get to the castle. The castle still dominates the town today with the high pentagonal tower. The town is full of shops, cafés, boutiques and restaurants with a full and friendly community. Casoli sits on the border between a lively, commercial hub and an endless green belt leading to the national mountain reserves. 5km from Casoli there is a Lake Sant’Angelo (but everybody calls it Lake Casoli), on which you can find La Torretta Restaurant.
